Run for the Falcons 5k – Raised $15,000 at the event for the JBHS Boys lacrosse team and donated $1,500 to the Kyle Conrad Foundation.
On January 9, 2015, the Jensen Beach High School Boys Lacrosse team hosted its second annual Run for the Falcon’s 5k. This fun-for-all-ages event was a huge success! The race had over 300 runners registered, who ran an out and back course on Friday evening and crossed the finish line under the lights in Falcon stadium.
After the race, participants were able to enjoy live music by The Inverted and food donated by area restaurants: Castaways, St. Lucie Draft House, Tijuana Flats and Domino's Pizza.
Proceeds from the event benefited the Jensen Beach High School (JBHS) boys lacrosse team with 10 percent of the proceeds being donated to the Kyle Conrad Foundation. The idea for the Falcon 5k came about as a way to help offset the limited athletic funds available for high school athletics and to help pay for new helmets that were needed for the lacrosse team this year.
In addition to raising over $15,000 for the lacrosse team, the lacrosse players were able to donate $1,500 to the Kyle Conrad Foundation, so that they may present additional scholarships to a deserving high school senior entering into post-secondary education.
